新概念4學習筆記：第17課 A Man made Disease

第一段語法符號詳解：

簡單句，主謂賓結構.

複合句，主謂賓結構，加一個結果狀語從句，以致於出現了後面的情況，從句爲主謂結構.
3. It overran a continent.
簡單句，主謂賓結構.
4. It caused devastation by…which…
複合句，主謂結構+定語從句.
句中 it 指兔子，那麼兔子帶來了什麼的毀滅呢，本句中並沒有說，必須結合上句， 遍佈整個澳洲，所以此句的毀滅，是針對澳洲大陸來說的.
5. Scientists discovered that…this was susceptible…
複合句，主謂+賓語從句. 其中賓語從句是主系表結構，susceptible 形容詞作表語， 後面 to a fatal virus disease，可以看作狀語，亦有人作表語補足語來理解.
6. epidemics could be created.
簡單句，主謂結構.
by 引導的方式狀語是並列結構，分成讓兔子感染，以及讓兔子亂跑.
7. it was found that… which…
複合句，it 作形式主語，that 引導主語從句爲實際主語.
該主語從句中，含 which 引導的定語從句修飾蚊子，該定語從句爲主語+雙謂語結構，第二個謂語由動詞詞組 pass on 擔任.
8. while…Australia was encouraging this one.
複合句，主句爲主謂賓結構，前面爲 while 引導的時間狀語從句，亦爲主謂賓結構. this one 指上一句的蚊子.
9. It spread the disease and reduced the population…
並列句，it 指蚊子，spread 句中爲過去式，其過去式和過去分詞均不變，否則一般現在時需要用第三人稱單數.
10. It became apparent that rabbits were developing…so that the rabbit population was to be exterminated…
複合句，it 作形式主語，that 引導主語從句爲實際主語，該從句到 disease 爲止. 主句爲主系表結構.
that 引導的主語從句爲主謂賓結構.
so that 引導目的狀語從句，該從句爲主系表結構，動詞不定式作表語.
11. There were hopes…that…
there be 句型+同位語從句. 其中同位語從句是主系表結構.
第二段語法符號詳解：
1. Europe acquired this disease…
複合句，主句爲主謂賓結構，主語 Europe 由 which…Australia 這一定語從句所修飾. 定語從句結構與主句一樣.
2. A French physician decided to get rid of…and introduced…
並列句，and 連接的兩句均爲主謂賓結構，只不過第二句省略了主語.
3. It did not remain within the confines…
簡單句，主系表結構，表語由介詞短語擔任.
4. It spread where…and it spread where…but where…
並列複合句，兩個 it spread 主句構成全句的主幹結構，而每一個主句中，又含有where 引導的定語從句作進一步的解釋說明，其中第二個主句包括 2 個 where 引導的定語從句，以 but 爲轉折相聯繫.
4-1 該定語從句爲並列句，主謂賓結構，第二句省略了主語，謂語也不完整，所以as 應理解爲 are regarded as.
4-2 該定語從句爲簡單句，主謂賓結構.
4-3 該定語從句爲主系表結構，是第二個主句的第二個定語從句.
5. The question became one…
簡單句，主系表結構. 只不過之後 of 所帶的定語裏面，有一個句子作爲介詞whether 的賓語，所以在這裏對該句子 Man…invented 進行了成分劃分，裏面還包含了一個 he had invented 的定語從句修飾 disease. 可以留意，最後的兩個括回來的括號，一個在句點內，表 of 所帶的定語結束；一個在句點之外，表 he had invented 的從句結束.
