雙語故事:The Swallow’s Words 燕子的忠告
It happened that a country man was sowing some hemp seeds in a field where a Swallow and some other Birds were hopping about picking up their food.
“Be ware of that man,”said the Swallow.
“Why, what is he doing?” said the others.
“Those are hemp seeds he is sowing; be careful to pickup everyone of the seeds, or else you will repent it.”
The Birds paid no heed to the Swallow’s words.
By and by the hemp grew up and was made into cord, and of the cords nets were made, and many a Bird that had despised the Swallow’s advice was caught in nets made out of that very hemp.
一個莊稼人正在地裏播種大麻的種子。一隻燕子和一些其他的鳥兒正在那裏尋找食物。
“小心那個男人。”燕子說。
“爲什麼？他在幹什麼？”其他鳥問。
“他正在播種大麻的種子，一定要仔細地把每一粒都揀出來，否則你們會後悔的。”
鳥兒們都沒在意燕子的話。
大麻漸漸長大了，後來被搓成了繩子，繩子又被結成了網。許多對燕子的勸告滿不在乎的鳥兒正是被這用大麻編成的網捉住的。

最有價值的建議往往不易被人重視。我們要善於接納別人善意的勸告，不然等到災難來臨再後悔，那就爲時晚矣。
