在雅思考試中看到不認識的詞彙該怎麼辦？
在雅思考試裏看到詞彙不認識怎麼辦?看到這個問題可能有很多雅思考生都感同身受，這也是伴隨我們做雅思閱讀題目很久的一個問題。
也許有很多學生會說，這個問題簡直無需贅述，因爲答案很簡單：就是背單詞。
但是，每位考生的情況不同，閱讀文章中或多或少都會出現不認識或者不好理解的單詞;而且，閱讀考試並不僅僅考查單詞認知，而更重要的是閱讀能力。
因此，除了我們需要多積累單詞之外，還有一些方法可以幫助減緩我們對於生詞的困擾。
第一，判斷好已知信息或者答案的詞性
這種方法通常用於填空類的題目。即使單詞不認識，也至少可以根據這個單詞在句子的位置去判斷詞性。
例如，劍橋雅思真題11(簡稱“劍11”)的28頁第30題：put a large number of tiny spacecraft into orbit far above Earth to create a…… would reduce the amount of light reaching Earth.
這道題目答案要求是：只填一個單詞，答案詞性爲：可數名詞單數。
根據題目的定位詞可以定位到文中B段倒數第二句話“to form a transparent, sunlight-refracting sunshade in an orbit 1.5 million km above the Earth. 當很多學生滿心歡喜地找到這句話的時候卻突然猶豫，因爲 “transparent”、 “sunlight-refracting”和 “sunshade”都不太好理解，不知道哪一個詞爲答案。
而如果我們運用一些語法知識去判斷詞性的話，就能反應過來：“a” 後面無論接多少個單詞，一定保證最後一個詞詞性爲名詞，再加上 “sunlight-refracting” 兩個詞中間由連字符連接，詞性爲形容詞，修飾名詞，因此文中這句話中答案爲sunshade。
第二，根據句子中出現的連接詞理解文章
閱讀中常用連接詞有很多，在此我就拿 “while” 舉例。這個詞其中一個釋義爲“然而”，引導的從句和主句有比對關係。
例如，劍11的71頁第14題：Local gulls and migrating arctic terns behave in the same way when offered food.
根據題目中的定位詞可以定位到文中第二段前兩句話：
An arctic tern, on its 20,000 km flight from the extreme south of South America to the Arctic circle, will take no notice of a nice smelly herring offered from a bird-watcher's boat along the way. While local gulls will dive voraciously for such handouts, the tern flies on.
這句話中出現了一些不好理解的詞 “smelly herring”、 “dive voraciously” 和 “handouts”，並且句式也比較複雜。
但是這兩句話中出現了 “while” 這個詞，因此後面引導的從句與逗號後面的主句爲對比關係，與題目中的考點 “behave in the same way” 相沖突，因此這道題答案爲FALSE。
第三，根據上下文的信息去理解
例如，劍5的63頁E段第二句話：The results were phenomenal. By the age of three, the children in the programme were significantly more advanced in language development than their peers, had made greater strides in problem solving and other intellectual skills, and problem were further along in social development.
句中 “phenomenal” 對於很多學生來說都是生詞，或者當把它理解成爲“現象的”的意思，就更不知所云，以至於影響到64頁第4題“a description of the positive outcomes of an education programme”的作答。
不過這個詞可以判斷詞性爲形容詞(al結尾)，表達了一定感情色彩，下一句話中會具體解釋說明 “結果如何phenomenal”。
下一句話 “By the age social development.” ，其中的 “advanced” 和 “significantly” 都帶有積極意義，可以判斷 “phenomenal” 也是帶有積極意思的單詞(譯爲：顯著的 adj.)，因此第4題答案即爲E。
以上的方法可以在一定程度上幫助我們通過題目和文章已知信息答疑，減少在一個生詞上面糾結的時間。
當然，在準備雅思考試的時候，背單詞一定是必不可少的，同學們在做完練習訂正完答案之後，還需要把題目中和文中生詞積累下來。
