Everyone loves fresh flowers but for most of us, they're only an occasional presence in our lives, generally limited to birthdays and the occasional romantic gesture.

The women were given flowers, a scented candle, or nothing at all, ostensibly as a thank you gift. The women who received flowers reported a significantly lower level of stress by the end of the period.
