今天，我們繼續來咬文嚼字，分析第三課的情景對話中每一個句子的語法現象。
Well, it doesn't surprise me one bit that he had a mistress.
解析1 ：這是還有一個主語從句的符合句。句中的“it”是形式主語，真實主語是由that引導的“he had a mistress”，引導詞“that”是不能省略的。
解析2：well在這裏是語氣詞，用以表示用“承認某事不可改變”，用中文說則是：哎，好吧。 例如：
Well, it can not be helped. （哎，這沒有辦法。）
— We lost. — Oh, well, better luck next time. （—我們輸了。—哦，算了，下次交好運。）
在這句話中，用到“well”，是表示Kenny同意Jennifer的說的關於Mary對於Mike有染一事的反應和態度。
解析2：surprise在這裏做動詞，表示“讓某人感到驚奇”，後面直接接表示人的名詞或代詞。它用作名詞，也可以表示同樣的意思，但是要和動詞give連用，即：give someone a big surprise。例如：
She was surprised by the boy's intelligence. （那男孩的智力使她很吃驚。）
變異：The boy's intelligence give her a surprise.
