1. 解詞釋義
Pay a call的字面意思是“打完電話後付費”，引申爲“拜訪”的意思。有這樣一種猜想：有了電話後，人們相互之間的聯繫方便多了，去別人家拜訪前一般先得打個電話預約。打電話是要付費用的，所以人們就用“付電話費”來表示“去別人家拜訪”。
