Brainstorming is a method students can use to generate ideas for writing a paper. In the process of brainstorming you should suspend any concerns about staying organized. The goal is to pour your thoughts onto paper without worrying about whether they make sense or how they fit together.

To get started, you will need a few clean pieces of paper, some tape, and a few colored pens or e your main idea or topic in the middle of the paper.

Professors and teachers usually lecture from an outline they’ve prepared ahead of time. They often try to complete one topic, theme, or cycle in an individual lecture—although there will be some overlap some days. If you’re visual person, you should make as many doodles on your paper as you can. Useful doodles, that is.
