農業部迴應熱點 未批任何轉基因糧食作物商業種植

China hasn't approved any planting of genetically modified organism (GMO) grains, Agricultural Minister Han Changfu said at a news conference on the sidelines of the ongoing legislative and political advisory meetings.

兩會期間，農業部部長韓長賦在一場記者會上表示，我國尚未批准任何一種轉基因糧食作物種植。

The safety of GMO technology can be ensured, said Zhang Taolin, deputy agricultural minister, at the conference.

農業部副部長張桃林在同一場記者會上稱，轉基因技術的安全性是有保證的。

Many international authorities, such as the World Health Organization, the European Commission and International Council for Science, have done long-term tracking, evaluation and supervision on GMO safety.

張桃林表示，世界衛生組織、歐盟委員會、國際科學理事會等衆多國際權威機構對轉基因安全性進行了長期跟蹤、評估和監測。

Results show that GMO products that have passed safety tests and are approved by governments are as safe as non-GMO products.

結果表明，經過安全評價、獲得政府批准的轉基因產品跟非轉基因產品是一樣安全的。

The government's stance on GMO is consistent and clear - bold in research, careful in popularization and strict in management, Zhang said.

張桃林稱，政府對於轉基因的態度是一貫和明確的，即研究上要大膽、推廣上要慎重、管理上要嚴格。
