Goal setting is an important part of being a successful small business owner. Without goals, it's difficult to identify ways you can grow, develop, and move forward toward continued success.

Goal setting is such a broad process that if you don't have any idea of what you want to accomplish, it can be very overwhelming. Sometimes, when we hit these feelings of overwhelm we tend to procrastinate because we don't feel prepared to tackle what seems like a huge process. The problem is, if you put off goal setting, waiting for a lot of free time, the perfect goal, or some other elusive marker that it's the perfect time to start, you may end up wasting months or maybe even years.
設定目標涉及面很廣,若你對自己想要實現的事情沒有任何概念的話,這會讓你感到壓力巨大。有時候,當我們感到壓力感侵襲的時候,我們就想拖延事情的進度,因爲我們還沒準備好去解決這麼一個看起來廣泛的過程。問題在於,如果你延遲設定目標,等待有了寬鬆的時間,那麼那個最完美的目標,或某些難以捉摸的標誌性事件到了合適的時機纔去着手,最終只會浪費你好幾個月甚至好幾年的時間。

Small business owners are notoriously busy with many different things, every single day.

This kind of flexibility may present you with a new way to accomplish your goal that you never thought of, or maybe even change your goal into something even better. So work to stay structured, but be open to changes during the process.
這種靈活性也許會讓你找到一個意想不到的實現目標的方法,或甚至讓你調整目標,得出更好的結果。所以要保持條理性,也要在實現目標過程中敢於做出改變。

5. Forgetting to Celebrate Your Successes

When we set goals, we tend to get so focused on the end result. We work very hard to get from point A to point B so it's common to lose track of successes that happen in between. Set milestones and stop to celebrate each small success along the way. This will help you build momentum and will make the big finale that much sweeter because you will have tracked each success that helped you get there.
