Hit/strike home 指辱罵,說話或批評等正中要害,說到點子上,被某人完全理解 (of an insult, a remark, criticism, ect) affect or hurt sb in the intended way, make sb really understand sth
His criticism of my work struck home. I knew he was right.
他對我工作的批評正中要害,我知道他說的對.
My remarks last week obviously hit home because he has not been late for work since.
