披着羊皮的狼
A wolf wanted to eat the sheep, but he was afraid of the vigilant shepherd and his dogs.
狼想吃羊，但是他害怕警惕的牧羊人和牧羊犬。
One day the wolf found the skin of a sheep. He put it on and walked among the sheep.
有一天狼發現了一塊羊皮，便披着它混入羊羣。
A lamb thought that the wolf was its mother because his skin looked like hers. So it followed the wolf.
一隻小羊羔把這隻披着羊皮的狼誤認爲自己的媽媽，被領出了羊羣。
Soon after they had left the dogs, the wolf came at the lamb and ate it up. For some time he succeeded in deceiving the sheep, and enjoying hearty meals.
狼成功地欺騙了羊羣，吃掉了小羊羔。
寓意: 事物的外表有時候會掩蓋它的本質，所以我們不能只憑表面現象就作判斷。

A GREedy dog went into a butcher’s shop and stole a big juicy bone. He ran away so fast that the butcher could not catch him. He ran out into the fields with his bone. He was going to eat it all by himself.
一隻貪心的狗跑到一家豬肉店偷了一根很大又有髓的骨頭.他跑很快,所以那個賣豬肉的人追不到他.他咬著他的大骨頭跑到空曠的地方,準備要好好地吃個痛快.
the dog came to a stream. There was a narrow bridge across it. The dog walked on to the bridge, and looked into the water. He could see another dog with a big bone in his mouth.
這隻狗來到一條溪流.有一座窄窄的橋跨在上面.這隻狗走到橋上,望水裏面看.他看見另一隻狗嘴裏咬著一跟大骨頭.
the GREedy dog thought the bone in the water looked much bigger than the one he had stolen from the butcher.
這隻貪心的狗認爲在水裏面的那根骨頭看起來比他跟賣肉的偷來的這根骨頭大多了.
the GREedy dog dropped the bone from his mouth. It fell into the water and was lost. He jumped into the water to snatch the bigger bone from the other dog.
這隻貪心的狗從嘴理丟了那根骨頭.它掉到水裏而且不見了.他跳進去水裏面想從另一隻狗那兒抓那跟更大的骨頭.
the GREedy dog jumped into the water with a big splash. He looked everywhere but he could not see the other dog. His shadow had gone.
貪心的狗跳進水裏濺起好多水花.他到處看,可是都找不到其他的狗.他的倒影不見了.
the silly dog went home hungry. He lost his bone and got nothing because he had been too GREedy.
這隻笨狗餓著肚子回家.因爲太貪心,他弄丟了他的骨頭而且一點東西也沒拿到.

貪的太多隻會失去更多

A farmer lives alone with his Daughter. She is very beautiful, and also very thoughtful. The Farmer loves his Daughter very much. Right now, they are working in the field together.. 有個一農夫和他的女兒相依爲命。她長得十分美麗，而且善解人意。農夫非常寵愛她。一天，他們正一起在田裏幹活。
Father: Don’t work too hard, my dear. It is very hot today! you.might get sick.
父親：不要太辛苦了，親愛的。今天很熱。你可能會生病的。
Daughter: Don’t worry about me, Father. Why don’t you go back home? I can do this by myself.

Father: No, no. let’s finish it together quickly.
父親：不，不!我們一起快點兒幹完吧! A Lion comes down to the village from the forest. 一隻獅子從森林裏出來，來到村子。
Lion: Look at those two! Yum, yum. They look very delicious. It’s my lunch time. I shall eat them for lunch. Hee, hee, hee.

The Lion goes to the field.
獅子向田裏走去。
Lion: Rrr…Rrr…I am the king of the forest! You two must be my lunch today. Get ready to die!
獅子：奧…我是森林之王。你們兩個今天得當我的午餐。受死吧!
Father: Oh my goodness! A Lion! Where did it come from? Run away, my dear!
父親：哦，我的天啊!一隻獅子!它是從哪裏來的啊?快跑啊，親愛的!
Daughter: No, Father! I can’t leave you here alone. I will stay with you.
女兒：不，爸爸!我不能留你一個人在這裏。我要跟你在一起。
Lion: You are a brave young girl! Come closer to me. Let me look at you.

The Lion takes a close look at the Farmer’s Daughter. She is so beautiful. He falls in love at first sight.

Father: Well, uh… She is too young to get married.

Lion: That doesn’t matter. She will grow old with me. Give your Daughter to me. Or else you will both die. What will you do?

The Farmer and his Daughter return home.

Father: What shall we do, my dear? I can’t let you marry the Lion. But if you don’t marry him, he will eat us up.

Daughter: Don’t worry too much, Father. There must be a way. I’ll think of something. Ah ha! I’ve got it!

The Daughter whispers something into her Father’s ears.
女兒在父親耳邊悄悄說了一些話。
Father: What a great idea! You are not only beautiful, but very smart, too.

The next day, the Farmer meets the Lion.
第二天，農夫去見了獅子。
Lion: So what did your daughter say? Tell me at once!

Lion: What is it? Tell me! What else did she say?

The Lion goes back to his cave and pulls out all his claws. He is so happy. He can’t wait to marry the Farmer’s Daughter. 獅子回到他的洞中，拔掉了所有的爪子。他太開心了。他迫不及待地要迎娶農夫的女兒。
Father: Hello there, Lion. Did you pull out all your claws?
父親：你好，獅子。你把所有的爪子都拔掉了嗎?
Lion: I pulled all of them out. Look for yourself! They are all gone. Now tell her to come to me.
獅子：我把它們都拔了，你自己看看吧!都沒了。叫她到我這兒來吧!
Father: But wait! There is one more thing. She said she is also afraid of your teeth. They are too sharp. What if you harm her with them? So I was thinking… Can you pull out all your teeth as well?
父親：可是等一等，還有一件事。她說她也害怕你的牙齒，它們太尖利了。你用牙齒傷到她怎麼辦?所以我想…你能把牙齒也都拔掉嗎?
Lion: That is not a problem. I can do anything for her. I will pull out all of my teeth. Come back tomorrow with your daughter.

Father: I shall tell her. See you tomorrow, Lion.
父親：我會告訴她的。明天見，獅子。 This time the Lion goes back to his cave and pulls out all of his teeth. He looks into the mirror and smiles. He is excited about tomorrow’s wedding. 這次，獅子回到洞中，拔掉了所有的牙齒。他對着鏡子笑了笑。想到明天的婚禮，獅子感到很興奮。
Lion: Good morning, Farmer. I pulled out all of my teeth. Look for yourself! Now I have no sharp claws and no sharp teeth. I did everything as your daughter asked. I can’t harm her anymore. Where is she now? Where is my bride? Bring her to me. I want to marry her right now.
獅子：早上好，農夫。我拔掉了所有的牙齒，你自己看看吧!現在我沒有尖爪和利牙了。你女兒要求的事情我都辦到了。我再也不會傷着她了。她在哪裏?我的新娘在哪裏?把她帶過來給我，我要馬上和她結婚。
Father: She is not coming here today. And she is not marrying you either!
父親：她今天沒來，而且也不會嫁給你。
Lion: What?! What do you mean? I pulled out my claws and teeth for her. She said…
