"This week Abby turned 18. For her 1st birthday we asked all our loved ones to write her a letter to be put in a time capsule that would be opened 17 years later. These include letters from her Grandfather Doug, her uncle John Aldershof, great grandparents and more."

英語口語演講小短文篇二A doctor entered the hospital in hurry after being called in for an urgent surgery. He answered the call asap, changed his clothes & went directly to the surgery block. He found the boy's father pacing in the hall waiting for the doctor. On seeing him, the dad yelled:
在接到一通緊急手術的電話以後，一名醫生急匆匆地走進醫院。他一聽到電話馬上就接了，換了衣服，徑直走到手術區域。他看見患者的父親在走廊焦急地來回踱步等待着醫生，一看見醫生便咆哮道：
"Why did you take all this time to come? Don't you know that my son's life is in danger? Don't you have any sense of responsibility?"
你怎麼這麼久纔來?知不知道我的兒子危在旦夕?你還有沒有點責任心?
The doctor smiled & said:
醫生面帶微笑說道：
"I am sorry, I wasn't in the hospital & I came as fast as I could after receiving the call...... And now, I wish you'd calm down so that I can do my work"
“我很抱歉當時我不在醫院，接到電話以後我也儘可能快的趕來了，現在你需要冷靜，我要開始我的工作了。
"Calm down?! What if your son was in this room right now, would you calm down? If your own son dies now what will you do??" said the father angrily
冷靜?!如果現在手術室裏面的是你的兒子，你會冷靜麼?如果你自己的兒子要死了，你會怎麼做呢?這位父親生氣的說道。
The doctor smiled again & replied: "I will say what Job said in the Holy Book "From dust we came & to dust we return, blessed be the name of God". Doctors cannot prolong lives.
醫生依然面帶微笑回答道：我會說，約伯在《聖經》裏曾說，承蒙上天關愛，我們源於塵土也終將歸於塵土。
The surgery took some hours after which the doctor went out happy,"Thank goodness!, your son is saved!" And without waiting for the father's reply he carried on his way running. "If you have any question, ask the nurse!!"
手術進行了幾個小時，之後醫生高興地從裏面走出來。“感謝上帝，你的兒子得救了!“還沒有等父親回答，他就一路小跑走了“如果你有任何問題，問護士吧。”
"Why is he so arrogant? He couldn't wait some minutes so that I ask about my son's state" Commented the father when seeing the nurse minutes after the doctor left.
幾分鐘後父親看到護士抱怨道，“他爲什麼如此傲慢，也不等個幾分鐘讓我問問兒子的情況”
The nurse answered, tears coming down her face: "His son died yesterday in a road accident, he was in the burial when we called him for your son's surgery. And now that he saved your son's life, he left running to finish his son's burial."
“他的兒子昨天出交通事故去世了，我們打電話讓他手術的時候他正好在善後，現在他救好了你兒子就要趕回去參加葬禮。”說着護士留下了眼淚。
Moral - Never judge anyone..... because you never know how their life is and what they're going through"

英語口語演講小短文篇三Life is full of miracles. They surround us every day. One of these miracles happened to me recently. I was filling my car’s tank at a local gas station. It was only 10 A.M. but I already felt tired. It was a cloudy, gloomy and rainy day and I hadn’t slept well the night before. After I paid for the gas I turned my car towards the main road. I looked right and left then my brain sent the signal for my foot to push on the gas pedal but nothing happened. Shocked, I shook my head to clear it and gazed down at my foot.
生活充滿了奇蹟，而且每天就在我們身邊上演。最近我也碰到的一樁不可思議的事情。當時我正在當地的一家加油站加油，雖說只有上午十點，但我卻感覺相當疲憊。那天天氣多雲陰沉看着要下雨，之前晚上我也沒有睡好。付過油錢以後我就準備開車上主路，我左右看看，然後大腦發出信號讓腳踩油門，但是什麼都沒有發生。一陣惶恐，我搖搖頭試圖清醒，然後低下頭看我的腳。
Just as I did, though, a semi-truck roared past my car doing 60 mph. My weary, bleary eyes hadn’t seen it when I had looked just 2 seconds earlier. If I had been pulling out when I should have been my little green car would have been smashed and I would have most likely been killed. I sat there for a long time quietly thanking God for sparing my life before pulling out on the road and heading home. This time both my brain and foot worked perfectly.
就在這時一輛半掛汽車以每小時60英里的速度從我車旁邊呼嘯而過。兩秒前，我還用疲憊的雙眼，視線模糊的看了，並沒有發現這一情況。但凡當時我的車駛出一點，那現在我的綠色小車肯定被撞了個稀巴爛，我也已經很可能一命嗚呼了。我在車裏靜坐良久，感謝上帝躲過一劫，之後再開車回家，這次我的腦子和腳配合默契。
As I looked back on that moment later I still couldn’t understand it. Did God prevent my brain’s signal from reaching my foot? Did an angel grab my toes to keep them from pressing on the gas? One question kept coming back into my mind as well: why? Why did I get this miracle? Why did God spare my life this day? Finally, I felt the answer forming deep within my heart and mind. I heard the words coming from my soul saying: “You still have more to do. Your work is not done yet!”
之後回憶起那一刻，我還是很費解，難道是上帝阻止了我腦子發給腳的信號?還是有天使拉住了我的腳不讓踩油門?還有一個問題在我的腦海中久久縈繞，爲什麼?是我碰上這樣的奇蹟。最後答案從我的心理和腦中浮現。我彷彿聽到自己的靈魂在說，你還有事情要做，你還有許多事情沒有完成。
