職場英語日記 第45期:我的高中情人

I went to a little burger place for lunch today. While I was eating, I saw someone who looked really familiar at the table across from me. At first, I recognized sure who it was and then I recognized him. It was jone, my old high school sweetheart, I haven't seen him in YEARS. He looks so different!

今天中午我去一家小型漢堡店吃午餐，吃着吃着，發現桌子對面那個人很面熟。一開始我還不確定是誰，但很快就認出他了，原來是我高中時的戀人約翰。我好多年沒見到他了，他的變化真大!

He's starting to go a little bit bald and he's much heavier than he used to be. He saw me too and said hello. It was a surprise for both of us.

他不僅頭髮微禿，也比過去胖很多。他也看到我了，和我打招呼。突然遇上，我們兩個都很驚訝。

He told me he works for an insurance company, he has a 4-year-old daughter and he was marriedfor 6 years, but he just recently separated from his wife. He told me I look beautiful and said he wondered from time to time how I am doing. I told him I am doing great.

他告訴我現在在一家保險公司工作，結婚6年了，有個4歲大的女兒，不過最近和老婆分居了。他說我看起來很美，又說他不時會想知道我過得好不好。我告訴他我過得很好。

It was strange talking to him because I was so in love with him years ago and I was devastated when we broke up. I was heartbroken. I never thought I would get over him, but I know now that I am.

和他說話感覺怪怪的。我們多年前曾熱戀過，分手也曾讓我身心交瘁、悲痛不已。原本以爲自己永遠忘不了他，但現在我知道我走出來了。
