選專業有技巧 宜早確定

由於中國的高考獨木橋使得無數優秀學子在被大學錄取時，無法進入最心儀的專業就讀，而不少大學應屆畢業生在參加工作時，也沒有選擇自己就讀的專業領域，因此長久以來，中國學生和家長對申請大學的專業並不在意。甚至有些家長存在這樣的觀念：“不管讀什麼專業，只要孩子能上就好！”其實帶着這種觀念在進入美國大學學習，恰恰會讓孩子學得事倍功半。

啓德教育美國項目總監、資深教育顧問張索娃分析說：“在美國大衆的普遍觀念裏，大學教育只是實現未來職業規劃的一個途徑，拿本科文憑並非最終目的。雖然美國大學實施通才教育，在大學前兩年只學習基礎課程，並不要求馬上確定專業，但如果要求轉系，如從文科轉理科或從工科轉商科，肯定會造成一定學分的浪費，也就是孩子學費和時間的浪費。”因此她建議說，一旦中國學生確定去美國讀大學，專業宜早確定，而且最好根據學生的興趣愛好和未來職業發展計劃來選擇。

同時，選專業要注重技巧。從前文中可以看出，金融專業畢業生的就業“錢”景頗佳，但正因如此，選擇該專業的優秀學生也非常多。每年美國大學金融專業的錄取競爭都異常激烈。而中國學生比起其他金融體系發達國家的學生來說，對於金融服務領域的瞭解並不多，真正有豐富工作經驗和專業知識的更少之又少，因此申請難度比較大。但如果選擇申請數學專業，同樣可以進入金融行業就職，中國學生在這方面的優勢就大多了。
