年中國總人口達13.7億 男女比例稍有好轉

China saw its population grow last year, along with an improved male-female ratio and the level of education, according to a survey from the National Bureau of Statistics that was released on last Wednesday.

據國家統計局上週三發佈的調查顯示，去年，我國人口總數有所增長，且男女性別比例及國民受教育程度均有所改善。

The Chinese mainland had a population of 1.37 billion, an increase of 33.77 million people over the census taken in 2010, meaning the annual growth rate was 0.5 percent.

去年我國內地人口總數達13.7億，與2010年進行人口普查時相比，人口數量增加了3377萬，這意味着人口年增長率爲0.5%。

The number of people holding degrees from colleges or universities reached 170.93m, which means there were 12,445 people with an advanced education per 100,000 people in 2015, up from 8,930 in 2010. The number of people who had attended a senior high school also increased, and the number who had only completed lower-level education fell.

全國具有大學教育程度的人口達17093萬人，每10萬人中受過高等教育的人口已由2010年的8930人上升至2015年的12445人。此外，我國上過高中的人數也有所增長，而只完成低水平教育的人數則有所下降。

The improvements in education levels mirrored the development of China's education system. Independent research into China's education situation showed that overall education development was better than the world average last year, Yuan Guiren, minister of education, said in March.

教育水平的提高，反映了我國教育體制的發展。教育部部長袁貴仁今年3月表示，根據對中國教育現狀的自主探究顯示，去年我國的總體教育發展水平要比世界平均水平更好。

The latest survey also showed the country had a narrower gap between genders in 2015. As to the structure of genders, the male-to-female ratio last year was 105.02, lower than the 2010 ratio of 105.2.

同時，根據這一最新調查顯示，2015年我國男女比例的差距也有所縮小。從性別構成看，男女人口性別比例已由2010年的105.2降至去年的105.02。

In addition, the urban population has increased and now represents 55.88 percent of the total population, an increase of 6.2 percent over the census of 2010.

此外，城鎮人口也有所增加，現在已經佔到總人口的55.88%，相比2010年普查時增加了6.2%。
