自年起 新加坡不再允許公務員訪問外網

By next May, none of Singapore's public servants will have access to the internet while at work.

從明年5月開始，新加坡的公務員在辦公期間將不允許上外網。

The city-state, which prides itself on strong law and order, is cutting off online access for government workers from about 100,000 computers, according to the Straits Times.

據《海峽時報》報道，新加坡這個以其強大的法律和秩序而自詡的城邦國家，將切斷10萬臺政府公務員辦公電腦的外網訪問權限。

A memo is being sent to all government agencies, outlining the new policy, which has been introduced to increase security, according to a statement from the Infocomm Development Authority.

據新加坡信息發展局的一項聲明指出，此通知已經傳達到所有的政府部門，引入此新政策目的是爲了保障信息安全。

"The Singapore Government regularly reviews our IT measures to make our network more secure," the statement said. "We have started to separate internet access from the work stations of a selected group of public service officers, and will do so for the rest of the public service officers progressively over a one-year period."

聲明寫道：“新加坡政府定期檢查我們的信息技術措施，讓網絡更安全。我們已經開始陸續推行這項措施，一部分公務員現已不能使用公務電腦上網。這項措施在接下來的一年內將會陸續推廣到各個部門。”

The Straits Times reports that workers will be able to access the internet on their private devices.

不過《海峽時報》稱，公務員倒是可以通過個人設備上網。

The move was criticized online as being a retrograde step and one that could lead to wider restrictions on internet freedom in the city-state.

此舉措被網友批評是在倒退，並且會給該城邦的互聯網自由帶來更大範圍的限制。

Step 1: Public servants will not have internet access. Step 2: Singapore will not have internet access.
