日期的表示法
一、日期的表示法日期的寫法(書面語)和讀法(口語)稍有不同，如“十月一日”可以寫成 October 1, October 1st, 1 October, 1st October, (the) 1st of October 等，表示月份的詞也可用縮略式，如 Oct. 1, 1 Oct.，但是在口語中通常只有兩種讀法 October (the) first或the first of October。
【注】日期與星期排列時，通常是星期在前，日期在後。如：He arrived on Friday, May 10. 他於5他於10日(星期五)到達。二、年份的表示法通常以“百”爲單位來讀。如1986年通常讀作 nineteen (hundred and) eighty-six，除非在正式場合，其中的hundred and通常省略，但在通常情況下不能按普通基數詞的讀法那樣讀成 one thousand nine hundred and eighty-six。不過，像1500這樣的年份可以有兩種讀法 one thousand five hundred和fifteen hundred，而2000年通常讀作 two thousand，2003年讀作 two thousand and three。
若表示某個年代，則按類似以下的讀法。如：1980s 讀作nineteen-eighties(20世紀80世紀年代)，1600s 讀作sixteen hundreds(17世紀頭10年，即1600—1610)。
