新聞熱詞：“可再生能源”怎麼說
爲從法制上“推動開發利用可再生能源、優化能源結構”，上海日前研究制定《上海市可再生能源條例》。“十一五”期間，上海發展可再生能源的目標是：到2010年，風力發電的規模達到20萬-30萬千瓦，光伏發電規模達到7兆-10兆瓦……

During the period, Shanghai plans to increase wind power to 200,000 or 300,000 kilowatts (kW) and photovoltaic (PV) power to seven to ten megawatts (MW); construct ten solar energy buildings yearly, develop solar water heater technology, and build garbage power-generating projects.
報道中，“可再生能源”相應的英文表達是“renewable energy”，renewable在這裏指自然生態循環的“可再生”，如“renewable resource”（可再生資源）。
“Renewable”（可再生的）源於動詞“renew”（更新、修復、繼續、續借），由動詞的多個詞義可猜出，renewable除表達“可再生的”之外，還含有多個含義，現列舉幾個常用表達：
由“to renew the library books”（續借圖書）可得“renewable books”（可續借的書籍）；“renewable subscriptions”（可續訂的雜誌）。
由“to renew a contract”（續簽合同）可得“a one-year renewable contract”（爲期一年可續訂的合同）。
由“to renewed the antique furniture”（修復老式傢俱）可得“renewable parts”（可更新的零件）。
