全球首條環島高鐵在我國海南省開通

South China's island province Hainan opened a new stretch of track that completes the world's first high-speed train line circling an island.

中國南方的海南省，近日開啓了一條新的高鐵路線，這條路線也是世界上首個環島的高鐵路線。

The circular line stretches across the beautiful landscapes of 12 different cities and counties at over 200 km/h. It reduces the travel time from around eight hours by car to three hours and 10 minutes.

環島高鐵將以200公里的時速，串聯起海南12個市縣的美麗風景，將此前8小時左右的車程縮短至3小時10分鐘。

The 345-km west loop high-speed railway was officially put into operation on Wednesday. It has 16 stops in six cities and counties, linking provincial capital Haikou with Sanya, a tropical tourist spot. It began construction in Sept 2013 with an investment of 27 billion yuan ($4.23 billion).

這條長達345km的環形高鐵路線西線在本週三正式投入運營。沿線經過6個縣市，並設有16個站點，將省會城市海口與著名熱帶旅遊景點三亞連接了起來。該路線於2013年9月開工，共投資270億元（42.3億美元）。

The 308-km eastern ring, also from Haikou to Sanya, was put into operation at the end of 2010 with a designed speed of up to 250 km per hour. It passes Boao, a scenic town where the Boao Forum for Asia is held annually.

而另一條從海口到三亞的環島東線，長達308km，在2010年末便開始投入使用，其設計速度高達250km/h。東線穿過了風景秀麗的博鰲，每年的博鰲亞洲論壇也在那裏舉行。

With a land area of 35,400 square km, Hainan is slightly larger than Belgium. A popular destination for beach lovers, it is expected to receive 47 million visitors this year.

海南省佔地35400平方公里，較比利時面積略大一些。該省也是深受海灘愛好者歡迎的目的地。預計今年海南將迎來4700萬遊客。
