酒吧的賭博
A guy walks into a bar, stopping to talk to everyone in the bar. As he finishes with each group of people, they all get up and leave and go stand outside the window, looking in.
一個傢伙走進酒吧，和裏面每個人耳語一番;全部講完一輪後，大家全都起身離開酒吧，站在窗外往裏頭瞧。
Finally, the bar is empty except for this guy and the bartender.
最後除了這傢伙和酒保外，整個酒吧就沒其他人了。
The guy walks up to the counter, and says to the bartender, “I bet you $2,000 that I can spray beer from my mouth into a glass from forty feet, and not get any outside the glass.”
這個人走近吧檯對酒保說：“2 000 塊，打賭我能用嘴把啤酒噴到四十英尺外的酒杯裏，而且一滴不漏。”
The bartender thinks that this guy is out of his mind, but he wants $2,000, so he agrees.
酒保覺得這傢伙大概腦子有毛病，但有2000 塊可賺，他當然同意。
The bartender gets out a shot glass , paces off forty feet, and the contest begins. The guy sprays beer all over the bar. He doesn't even touch the glass.
於是酒保拿出小杯，用腳步量出四十英尺，打賭比賽便正式開始。那個傢伙把啤酒噴得酒吧裏到處都是，小杯根本連碰都沒碰到。
When he finishes, the bartender looks at him and says, “Well, I guess you owe me $2,000, huh?”
結束後，酒保看着他說：“怎麼樣?我想你欠我2000 塊對吧?”
The guy answers, “Yeah, but I bet all of those people outside the window $500 each that I could come in here and spray beer all over the bar.”
那傢伙回答：“沒錯，不過我和窗外那些人每人打賭500塊，說我可以到吧檯這裏，把啤酒噴得酒吧裏到處都是。”

I got mixed up with an alligator and it bit my hand off.

“Amazing!” remarked the seaman. “How did you get the eye patch? ”
“太厲害了!”水手說：“那你的眼罩又是怎麼回事?”
“A seagull droppings fell into my eye”, replied the pirate.
“海鷗的糞掉到我的眼睛裏。”海盜回答。
“You lost your eye to a seagull dropping?” the sailor asked.
“被海鷗的糞弄到眼睛就瞎了?”水手問道。
“Well,” remarked the pirate, “it was my first day with my hook.”
“不是啦，”海盜回答：“因爲那一天我的手剛裝上鐵鉤.”

A man is sitting at the bar. He looks sad as he stares into his glass. He has been looking at hisdrink for a long time, when a big burly man walks up behind him and says:

“No, it’s not that. This day is the worst of my life. First, I fall asleep, and I ’m late to my boss fires me.”
“不是啦，事情不是這樣的。今天是我一生中最倒黴的一天，一開始是睡過頭上班遲到，結果被老闆炒魷魚。”
“When I leave the building to go to my car. I found out itwas stolen. I get a cab to return home. I leave home andcome to this bar. And when I was thinking about putting anend to my life, you show up and drink my poison.”
“等我離開辦公大樓去開車時，發現車被偷了，警察卻說他們無能爲力，我只好打的回家。我離開家來到這間酒吧，正想着要不要結束生命時，你卻突然出現把我的毒酒給喝了。”
