公熊貓爲吃蘋果放棄了一年一度的交配機會
A well-known male panda living in Taipei, Taiwan, has failed to complete his most important job of the year because he was distracted by an apple.
臺北的一隻著名的公熊貓因一隻蘋果而分心，讓搞砸了它一年中最重要的熊生大事。When Tuantuan's long-term mating partner, Yuanyuan, was in heat last week - a precious window lasting about 72 hours every year - and Taipei Zoo went to great lengths to entice them to mate naturally.

爲了不錯過圓圓的發情期，臺北動物園決定通過手術獲取團團的精子，當晚給圓圓進行了兩次人工授精。A spokesman from the zoo said they will discover whether the inseminations were successful in about three months.
動物園的發言人表示他們會在三個月後知道受精是否成功。The two pandas were given as a gift to Taiwan from mainland China in 2008. Their combined name 'tuan yuan' means 'reunion' in Chinese.
