"告訴"一些你不知道的表達
Tell在很多人的第一印象中就是"告訴"的意思,其實他的短語有很多不同的意思,今天我來"告訴"你不知道的意思
told
用於句首，句中，或者句尾。也就是all together“總共，共計”
如：I counted the books on the floor; I found that, all told, there were 50.
我數了一下地板上的書，發現一共有50本。
2. Don't tell me....!
用來表示懷疑、驚訝或者驚恐的一種句式“不至於……吧”
如：Don't tell me you.didn't know that.
這你當然是知道的！
3. I can tell you
多用於句尾，表示強烈地肯定所說的話“我可以肯定地告訴你”
如：You've wronged him. I tell you.
你肯定是冤枉他了。
4 I can't tell you...
向人表達自己內心的喜悅、感激等心情
如：I can't tell you how pleased we are to have you here tonight, Mr. Nelson.
Nelson先生，您不知道今晚能請到您我們有多高興。
5. I'm not telling!
拒絕回答提問（尤其是個人隱私方面的）時的一種說法，也就是“I'm not saying”，較正式些的說法就是No comment，“不告訴你，無可奉告”。
-Did she allow you to kiss her?
-I'm not telling!
-她允許你吻她了嗎？
-不告訴你，關你什麼事兒！
6. I'm telling you!
在對方對某事還不清楚，說話人只好強調自己早說過這個話“我不是告訴過你了嘛”
如：Yes, but I'm telling you——we could ring Nevin to drive us there.
當然能去，我告訴過你，我們可以打電話叫Nevin開車送我們去那兒。
10. You tell me.
在對方故弄玄虛地提出某問題時，可說這句話“我不知道，你說嘛”
例如：
-How can we take it from the box, d'you know?
-You tell me!
-知道怎麼才能把它從這個盒子裏弄出來嗎？
-你知道就說吧
7. I told you so.
自己對對方的警告“我早告訴過你吧”
如：I told you so! You wouldn't believe me.
我早告訴過你，可你就是不信我。
8. something tells me
有根據地判斷、猜測或懷疑某人某個時候說過的話“我想；我猜”
如：Something tells me it's going to rain.
我看天要下雨。
9. Tell me another.
對對方說的話表示一種懷疑，“我纔不信呢”
如：Oh yeah, tell me another.
噢，是嗎，聽你胡扯。
