1)wish後面的從句，表示與事實相反的情況，或表示將來不太可能實現的願望。其賓語從句的動詞形式爲：
主句 從句
從句動作先於主句動詞動作(be的過去式爲 were) 現在時 過去時
從句動作與主句動作同時發生(had + 過去分詞) 過去時 過去完成時
將來不大可能實現的願望 將來時 would/could +動詞原形
例如：I wish I were as tall as you. 我希望和你一樣高。
He wished he hadn't said that. 他希望他沒講過那樣的話。
I wish it would rain tomorrow. 我希望明天下雨就好了。
2)wish to do;wish sb / sth to do.例如：
I wish to see the manager. = I want to see the manager. 我希望見一見經理。
I wish the manager to be informed at once. (= I want the manager to be informed at once.)我希望經理能馬上得到消息。

hope和wish的用法兩詞都表示"希望"，但在用法上有相同和不同之處，不能隨意互換。
一、相同之處
1.都可接不定式作賓語。
We wish to see the film.
我們都希望看那部電影。
The children hope to do something for the old man.
這些孩子希望爲這位老人做些事情。
2.都能以某些代詞作賓語。
That's what you have wished.
那就是你所希望的。
You can't hope much from such people.
對於這樣的人，我們的希望不能過多。
3.都能與介詞for連用，後接名詞或某些不定代詞，表示"希望得到""祈求"。 Do you hope for peace?

4.都可與過去過完成時連用，表示本來想做而沒做成。
I had hoped to come here, but I couldn't.

5.都用於It is / was to be…that的句型中。
It is to be hoped that she will get full marks in English.
希望她會在英語考試中得到滿分。
It is to be wished that the problem will soon be solved.

二、不同之處
1. wish作爲及物動詞，可接名詞或代詞作賓語，hope則不能。 Do you wish a pen or a book?

2. wish能接雙賓語表示祝願，hope則不能。
I wish you success. 我祝你成功。
3. wish能接複合賓語，hope則不能。
I wish you to go with me.
我希望你同我一道去。
4. wish和hope都能接that引導的從句，但wish後的從句的謂語動詞要用虛擬語氣(動詞用過去時，或過去完成時)，hope則用所需要的時態。 I hope that he will win the game.

5. hope可與so或not連用，分別代替一個具有肯定和否定意義的賓語從句，以免重複，wish則不能。
