我國將嚴查環保數據造假 建立相關懲治機制

Chinese environment authorities will establish a system to prevent and punish environmental data fraud, according to an official with the Ministry of Environmental Protection.

環境保護部一名官員近日表示，我國環境部門將建立環境數據弄虛作假防範和懲治機制。

Since environmental monitoring is an important part of technical support in environment management, the ministry will give administrative penalties to people involved in environmental data fraud and transfer them to judicial organs for investigation if the case constitutes a crime, said the official.

該官員稱，環境監測是環境管理的技術支撐中的重要部分，環保部將對環境數據造假的涉事人員給予行政處罰，如構成犯罪還會將其移送司法機關。

Xi'an Intermediate People's Court in Shaanxi sentenced seven people, including the heads of two environmental protection branches, to imprisonments of over one year for falsifying air quality monitoring data.

日前，包括兩名環保局局長在內的7人，因僞造空氣質量監測數據，被陝西省西安市中級人民法院判處一年以上監禁。

The court said they interfered in the data collection of air quality, and used cotton to fill sampling instruments to lower pollution data.

法院方面稱，他們干擾空氣質量數據採集，用棉紗堵住採樣器以降低污染數據。
