美議員:燒掉中國產的美國奧運代表團隊服大綱
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was unambiguous in his response when asked about an ABC World News report that the U.S. Olympic team's opening ceremony uniforms were made in China rather than by American textile workers.
美國廣播公司(ABC)的“世界新聞”(World News)節目報道說，美國奧運代表團在倫敦奧運會開幕式上穿的隊服產自中國，而非美國紡織工人生產的。當有人問美國參議院多數黨領袖裏德(Harry Reid)對此有何感想時，他做出了明確的回答。
The uniforms, designed by Ralph Lauren, have "made in China" labels on them, the ABC report said.
美國廣播公司的報道說，美國代表團的隊服是由拉爾夫・勞倫公司(Ralph Lauren)設計，衣服上有“中國製造”的標籤。
Mr. Reid said he thought "they should take all the outfits, put them in a big pile and burn them and start all over."
裏德說，他認爲他們應該收回全部的隊服，將其堆做一堆，付之一炬，然後從頭到腳換新的。
Not satisfied, the Democratic leader then had a suggestion for what revised uniforms should look like: "If they have to wear nothing but a singlet saying USA on it painted by hand, that's what they should do." (See video of this remarks.)

Of course the source of Mr. Reid's anger was the apparent decision by the U.S. Olympic Committee to order uniforms made in China rather than by workers in America's struggling textiles industry.
當然令裏德生氣的原因是美國奧委會決定訂購中國生產的隊服，而不是由美國陷入困境的紡織業工人生產的服裝。
A spokeswoman for Ralph Lauren wasn't immediately available for comment.

Adam Jentleson, a spokesman for Mr. Reid, said on Twitter that the suit the lawmaker was sporting on Thursday was in fact made in the USA.
