Italian seating manufacturer Aviointeriors unveiled a new design for upright seating named Sky Rider 2.0 at the Aircraft Interiors Expo 2018 in Hamburg, Germany.

近日，意大利座椅製造商Aviointeriors在德國漢堡舉行的“2018飛機內飾博覽會”上推出了一種名爲“飛行者2.0”的新式“站位”座椅。

The manufacturer originally pitched the idea back in 2010 but it didn't take off.

Although passengers do get a small seat to rest behind on, but it will be pretty much standing.

Aviointeriors has highlighted that the designs could pack 20% more people into planes as they take up less space than traditional seats.

If the designs are taken up, the company claims that 20 per cent more people could be squeezed on board a plane.

Furthermore, Sky Rider 2.0 weighs 50% less than standard economy class seats and the reduced number of components enables minimum maintenance costs.
