After taking a glass of warm rum-and-water at a tavern close by, tocollecthis thoughts, the Captain made a rush down the court, lest its good effects should evaporate, and appeared suddenly to Mr Perch.
'Matey,' said the Captain, in persuasive accents. 'One of your Governors is named Carker.'

【語法用法】
collect屬於不及物動詞，常用於收“捐款，稅或是賬”，不過“收賬”只在美國常用；
在美國的商業用語中，collect還可作副詞或形容詞，表示“貨到收款”。
