1. have a clue
釋義：To have a hint about someone or something，to know anything about something（瞭解，知道）
用法：要表示瞭解，知道某人或者某事，在短語後用介詞about，即：have a clue about something or someone。
e.g. I don't have a clue about where to start looking for Jim.
我不知道從哪裏開始找吉姆。
e.g. Why do you think I have a clue about Tom's disappearance?
你爲什麼認爲我知道湯姆失蹤的事?
e.g. Maybe your boss just doesn't have a clue about how much you're really doing.
或許你老闆不知道你到底做了多少工作。
e.g. A: Do you think Paul suspects that we're having a surprise party for him?
你覺得保羅會不會懷疑我們爲他準備了一個驚喜派對?
B: No, he doesn't have a clue!
不，他一點都不知道！
2. have a lock on
釋義：To have complete control over someone or something. （對……勝券在握，完全控制……）
用法：介詞on後面可以接somebody，即：have a lock on somebody（完全控制某人），也可以接something，即：have a lock on something（對某事勝券在握）。
e.g. Greg may think he has a lock on the promotion, but I'm determined to prove him wrong.
Greg認爲他的晉升是勝券在握，但是我決心要證明他的想法是錯誤的。
e.g. He would sooner see the whole bank go down the drain than get beaten by us. Unless we have a lock on him—and that won't be easy.
他寧願看到整個銀行都垮掉也不願被我們打敗。除非他被我們完全控制住，但是這並不容易。
3. have a prayer
釋義：To have any chance at all of doing or achieving something. （有希望，有機會）
e.g. With that giant supermarket opening up across the street, our little grocery store won't have a prayer of staying open.
由於街對面開了一家大型超市，我媽媽這些小雜貨店開不下去了。
e.g. You think you can beat me? Ha! You don't have a prayer.
你認爲你可以打敗我？哈哈，你一點都不可能打敗我。
