430. 昨天下午，我們的校長在辦公樓二樓的接待室裏接待了幾位外賓。

[誤] Yesterday afternoon our president received several foreign vistitors in the parlor on the second floor of
the Administration Building.

[正] Yesterday afternoon our president received several foreign vistitors in the reception room on the second
floor of the Administration Building.

注：parlor 在美國英語裏指私人家裏的客廳，也指旅館裏的休息室等房間，但現在已少用。在美國，也用於某些商業性的營業室，如 ice-cream parlo冷飲室，hairdresser's parlor，beauty parlor美容室。學校以及其它公共機關裏的接待室（或會客室），一般用 reception room。
