[誤] They are at the end of their road.

[正] They are at the end of their tether.

注：tether 是用來拴家畜的繫繩，這些家畜只能在繫繩盡頭所能達到的範圍內活動，所以 at the end of one's tether 被用來比喻能力等“達到了極限”。這裏的 tether 有時也用 rope 替代。
