中式英語之鑑:菜地
113. 裘德在鄉下有一塊菜地。
[誤] Jude has a piece of vegetable field in the countryside.
[正] Jude has a piece of vegetable plot in the countryside.
注：英語裏 field 的確可指“（一塊）田地”，如：a paddy field（一塊稻田），terraced fields（梯田）等，但“菜地”卻習慣稱爲 vegetable plot，而不是 field。 plot 指“小塊土地，小塊地皮”，如：an experimental plot of cotton（一塊棉花試驗田）。
