[正] He has been having ants in his pants ever since the occurrence of that event.

注： “螞蟻在褲腿裏爬”當然會讓人坐立不安了，這時與中文所說的“魂不守舍”是不是一個樣子呢？只是中文用的是擬人的修辭手法，而英文用的是比喻。
