《小謝爾頓》S1E4：“隨便”用英語怎麼說？

這天早上，謝爾頓正在吃一根切好的香腸。他平常會很謹慎的咀嚼食物，可在這次危險降臨了。

那塊香腸卡住了謝爾頓的喉嚨，讓他難以呼吸。他爸爸就用特殊辦法，也就是把兒子倒過來幫他吐出了那塊要命的香腸。

可是謝爾頓有了心理陰影，再也不敢吃固體食物。

1. ebb

ebb表示“衰退；逐漸減少“——

He could feel his strength ebbing (away).

他能感覺到自己逐漸體力不支。

有個習語是at a low ebb，意思是處於低潮；處於衰退狀態。

而ebb and flow形容的是（有規律的）漲落，起伏，比如：

You have to accept the ebb and flow of love in a relationship.

你得承受戀愛過程中愛情的起起伏伏。

2. feel free

如果有人跟你說feel free to do sth，他們的意思是你想做什麼都可以。

比如：

Feel free to ask questions if you don't understand.

你要是不懂，可以隨便提問。

Feel free to help yourself to coffee.

請隨意喝咖啡。

3. outgrow

outgrow是個超級實用的詞語，它的意思有這兩個——

①長得比…大；長得太大（而不再需要）

My seven-year-old got new shoes in April, and he's already outgrown them (= his feet have grown too large for them).

我7歲的兒子4月份剛買了雙新鞋，現在已經穿不下了。

②因長大而對…失去興趣

He eventually outgrew his adolescent interest in war and guns.

他少年時期對戰爭和槍炮的興趣終於不復存在了。
