Expressing Disagreement

Mom: You know you shouldn't do that. It is not go for you.
Son: But I like it. It's interesting.
Mom: Just because you like it? That doesn't mean it's OK.
Son: Yeah. It's fun and I don't see a problem.
Mom: It's a problem because it makes you lazy and avoid your homework.
Son: That stuff is boring and I already understand it anyway.
Mom: I can't agree with you. Your grades suggest you don't; in fact, they say you need more work.
Son: But I want to do this instead.
Mom: Well, I said no, and I said I don't think you should.
Son: Please! Just a little longer.
Mom: No. Off to your homework now!

1.“be(not)good for…” Fresh fruit and vegetables are good for you.(新鮮的水果和蔬菜對你的
Watching too much TV isn't good for you.(看太多電視對你沒有好處。) 有害處”,則可以說“be bad for...”,例如:Smoking is bad for your health.(吸菸對你的健康有害。)Too much salt can be bad for you.(吃太多的鹽會對你的健康有害。)另外,口語中常會聽到“Good for you.” 其實它是用來對某人的做法表示贊同的,例如:-I've decided to accept the job. -Good for you.(-我決定接受這份工作。
2.在“Off to your homework now!” Are you ready? Off we go.(你準備好了嗎? I must be off now.(我得走了。)They were off to Italy and wanted to make an early start.(他們離開這裏去意大利了,他們想早點兒開始。)

I feel terrible. but...(我感到抱歉,但是…)
I wish I could help you, but...(我希望我能幫你,但是…)
I'd really like to,but…(我也希望如此,但是…)
I'd rather not answer that, if you don't mind.
That question is a little too personal. I'd rather not answer it.
Are you kidding?(你在開玩笑吧?)
You must be crazy!(你一定瘋了!)
I appreciate what you have to say, but. . .
I know what you mean. however. . .
