1.“wish”後面所接的賓語從句要使用虛擬語氣結構——(1)表示對現在情況的虛擬：從句中謂語動詞要用“動詞過去式或were”；(2)表示對過去情況的虛擬：從句中謂語動詞要用“had+動詞過去分詞”；(3)表示對將來情況的虛擬：從句中謂語動詞要用“would/could+動詞原形”。例如：I wish I knew the answer.（我希望我知道答案。）I wish I hadn't said that.（我希望我沒講過那樣的話，）I wish it would rain tomorrow.（我希望明天下雨就好了。）需要注意的是，在表示對過去情況的虛擬時，從句中的謂語動詞有時也可以用“would/could+have+過去分詞”，例如：I wish I could have seen her last night.（要是我昨天晚上能夠見到她該多好。）

“regret doing something”表示“對已經做過的事情感到後悔或遺憾”。
而“regret to do”則表示“對即將要做的事情感到遺憾或抱歉”。例如：I regret to inform you that your contract will not be
renewed.
