1.“go overseas”等同於“go abroad”，意爲“出國，到國外”。
2.“go to waste”意爲“浪費掉，白費”，例如：I shall probably make mint jelly too, as there is so much mint in the garden, I
hate to see it go to waste.（我可能也會做些薄荷凍，因爲花園裏有那麼多薄荷，我可不想眼看着白白浪費掉。）
3.“input”的意思是“輸入”，在本段對話中指對方發表的意見，其反義詞爲“output”，表示“輸出”。

吹“熱湯”還是吹“冷手”
《伊索寓言》中有這樣一則故事：一位旅行者受到森林之神薩泰爾(Satyr)的款待。因爲天氣寒冷，這位旅行者呵着氣暖手；森林之神請他喝肉湯，但他卻左右爲難，因爲他不知道是要用嘴巴喝湯還是吹氣暖手。因此，他一會兒吹吹(blow)熱(hot)湯，一會兒又吹吹冷冰冰的( cold)手。這樣一來，他兩者都沒顧得上，湯涼了，手還是冰的，湯自然也沒喝成，還惹得森林之神勃然大怒，把他趕出大門。
